Container transport equipment

We have a comprehensive fleet or Prime Movers and trailers that are specifically set up for moving containers. Our tilt tray (8.0 tonne capacity) and side loader (36.0 tonne capacity) vehicles are available to deliver and pick up your containers. Don’t want to load or unload your container personally? Let our labour hire service take the hassle off your plate as our professional team complete your load or unload.

Container storage

Many of our customers need to securely store their container between drop offs and pickups. Twenty Forty Transport maintains an extensive storage yard where your container will be kept safe and sound.

Road, rail, port, or barge

Logistics and shipping container transport can be complicated, and often a combined approach is the best way to get your container from A to B. If this means transporting your shipment from rail to barge, road to rail, road to sea port, or via some other configuration, no problem; we can handle it for you. Darwin based, we know the routes, the conditions, and the right way to successfully deliver your cargo on time and on budget.

Yes, we do one-off container deliveries and pickups

Many logistics companies will prioiritise big business over smaller customers, causing delays in delivery or collection of containers. Not us. We understand that that sort of service is useless to smaller-scale businesses or to private customers who need quick and reliable deliveries on an irregular basis.

Instead, we offer our one-off pickup and delivery service to customers whose needs do not involve such large scale operations. Often our clients simply need a container collected from one location and delivered to another in a quick, reliable and secure manner. This is exactly what we provide.

Machinery and building site container transport

Do you need to move heavy machinery, equipment, or building supplies from site to site? We're the perfect solution.

We can pick up and drop off your equipment throughout Darwin, Palmerston, and even the most remote areas of the Northern Territory.

Remote container freight delivery

Traditionally, reaching remote spots in Northern Territory has required the use of a barge to transport containers and freight. Not anymore, thanks to Twenty Forty Transport. We make regular delivery runs into Northern Territory by road, providing a far faster, far cheaper alternative to barge delivery.

Our delivery network

Our delivery network now includes channels that run via the Central Arnhem Road, the Victoria Highway and even extend as far east as Ngukurr and Numbulwar via the Roper Highway. We aim to open Northern Territory up to consignment delivery, and forge closer connections between the economies of some of the Territory's most difficult to reach locations and the rest of Australia as a whole.

Need some help with the loading of your shipment? We can even send a 16-tonne forklift truck round to your premises to assist you, ensuring a top quality level of service at every stage of the process.

Faster, more affordable, remote delivery

Because it bypasses the barge and its limited schedule, our road service is quicker and more flexible*. Whatever schedule you need to stick to, we can handle it for you. Because we operate our own fleet of vehicles and use our own short-term warehousing space, we are also able to pass on some major cost reductions directly to our customers.

*In the event of road closures, delivery will be completed using the barge. We will still provide an end-to-end service for your shipment, and keep you informed of its status every step of the way.
